- The City has been woodshedding - working on its chops in ways only the recording of an album can make happen. We're anxious to play and energized by the formation of the Lexington Area Music Alliance.
Be a part of this important movement in Lexington's growth as a community known for its local music. All proceeds from this performance of The City will be contributed to LAMA, a 501(c)6 non-profit trade organization formed by musicians and related businesses to serve as a nexus for a burgeoning regional music performance and production economy.
We hope to see you there and please spread the word!
Reservations are encouraged.

- The City celebrates Derby Night by sharing the stage with The Bleats - Palisades - Sam Wooden and the Urbane Gentlemen
Four local bands came up with their signature sounds and original material rehearsing in space provided by Smiley Pete Publishing Company.
Now, in a gesture of appreciation to the folks at Smiley Pete - and in memory of the company’s namesake canine and Lexington's most famous pooch - they’re putting on a tag-team-style concert with all proceeds going to the Lexington Humane Society.
From vintage R&B/Soul to Retro-Country and Pop-Rock, this show has something for everybody.
But more than that, it’s all about the music Lexington makes.
Showtime is at 9pm, but be sure to make dinner reservations, too!

- Fundraiser for Military Missions
-
Natasha's Bar & Bistro:
Esplanade, Lexington, Kentucky, USA
(MAP)
- The City turns its cause-driven mission to cranking out its special brew of homegrown soul and r&b music on behalf of U.S. troops stationed in one of the world's most troubled countries: Afghanistan.
Gwynne Rose, a senior at Henry Clay High School, has taken on this fund raiser as her senior mentoring project and The City is happy to oblige.
The show is on behalf of Military Missions, an IRS approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization started by Beth Pennington of Lexington, the mother of a U.S. Marine who has served three tours of combat duty. After talking with many of her son's friends about their overseas experiences, Mrs. Pennington came up with the idea to start sending them care packages full of useful items such as shaving cream, zip-lock bags, socks, etc. This small project eventually grew in size and is now known around the country.
$8 door. All proceeds collected after minimal costs of producing the event will be donated directly to Military Missions to ensure a steady flow of care packages to the troops.
